The bank was registered as a mahila co operative bank on 3rd dec 1999 in channapatna as a part of the initiative of the govt of india to provide banking services to women. Inspite of decades after independence, women in general were not encouraged to avail the services of banks.

It is in this specific area our bank has become a pioner for facilitating banking facilities to the women from the poorest of the poor strata of society .channapatna being a rural area the bank is one of its kind in the entire state of karnataka . Inspite of several commercial banks and several private financial institutions doing business in the area, none of these institutions cater exclusively to the women in rural areas keeping transparency in administration.

The bank offers all the facilities like any of the commercial banks including core banking and is known for hassle free transactions particularly for uneducated women seeking small financial help.

The bank has established under smt,vijayalakshmi ramanna a renowned social worker of the area. She is the chief promoter and president of the bank since inception, and bank is proud to have benefited from her vast experience from running several institutions.

The bank cateres to more then 4000 beneficiaries and the recoveries are also equally good, the bank has been continuously making profits since inception.
